Active Parking Assist
Over the years Imaging Systems Technology’s (IST) team of engineers have developed End of Line (EOL) test systems for Bosch, TTE (Tung Thih Electronics), Raytheon/Valeo and Allied brand ultrasonic park assist sensors. These brands of sensors are the most widely used in the industry and are installed in past and current models of GM, Chevrolet, Cadillac, Ford, Daimler, Toyota, Honda, Lexus, Nissan and Mitsubishi automobiles.
Active Parking Assist (APA) sensors, which are mounted in front and rear bumper fascia, use ultrasonic proximity detection to measure the distance between nearby objects and the vehicle. The system warns the driver with tones that indicate object distance. Since these sensors are mounted in front and rear fascia they are often referred to as Front Parking Assist (FPA) and Rear Parking Assist (RPA).
What We Do
The IST Active Parking Assist Sensor Test System is designed to test harness continuity, sensor functionality and communications. In order to test the sensor functions, a target must be placed at a specific distance from each sensor to verify proper alignment and distance measurement. IST’s electrical and mechanical engineers have can design and install the fixtures needed to develop a complete testing and tracking system for your Active Parking Assist (APA) sensors. Our engineers have experience with a range of communication protocols used in the automotive industry such as KWP (Key Word Protocol), CAN (Controller Area Network) and LIN (Local Interconnect Network).
Easy To Use
The IST Active Parking Assist Test System can easily be configured to account for distance and sensor range. Using the parts configuration masking feature of IST’s EOL Test Software the system can test harnesses with differing numbers of sensors and lamps.
The IST EOL RPA/FPA Test Software saves all sensors measurement and communications status messages for each test that is run. Using the built in database features available in the IST EOL Test Software any part test can easily be viewed and verified.
